They have decent four screen 24 inch sets on Amazon. Sorry Nick, for about 130 bucks. The bubble ones are probably higher quality but cost about three times as much. I wouldn’t go any smaller than 24 inches. I ordered 36 inch but got sent 24 inch. Got a refund and stiffed them on returning the screens. It cost a lot of money to return them to Shandong China!😂 if I was to go with two screens, I would probably go with 160 and 230 mesh. But wait for Nick to chime in. He knows a hell of a lot more about this than I do! And you go through a pretty good amount of weed doing this!

Could a guy start dry sifting with just a 150 screen, a 75 screen, a glass bottle and some cellophane?

Those were awesome videos and I’m seriously considering ordering some screens..
well you could but why,. you’ll get hooked making hash etc so just get 3-4 screens,. i use 3,.. get the largest screens,. that gives you a larger work area,.

at one point i will be buying a 45 micron screen,.. but im going to do a test first when i get to sifting my afghanica,. everything that falls beneath the 75 will be collected than washed/cleaned through a 45 micron wash bag, collected, froze, grated, dried, than pressed,. if i like than i’ll probably buy the large 45 micron from press club,..

I know it is! Quality. Probably only have to buy them once! I added a 160 mesh and a 305 mesh. Jury is still out on them. I think the 305 makes it easier to clean it than on the parchment paper underneath the 220. I’m not sure heads are small enough to pass through the 305. I think that is about 45 µm.

About to embark on the warm weather, sifting adventure! According to press club, 62° is about the cut off! Waiting for low humidity. Probably have to go to the DVD parchment paper cleaning method in warmer weather. We will see.

Perhaps I’ll just keep studying and saving until I can get afford some gear that’ll be worth while!
May as well do it right if I do it

You don’t have to spend that kind of dough to get started! But you do have to spend some time researching! You can start small, and just do small batches!

So what would be the difference ( not counting the size ) with the bubblebag, or pressclub ones compared to the set on Amazon, besides the $500+ price diff? I do understand what your saying by having a larger area to work on.

Also, what do think about attaching the frames to a vibrating stand, do you think this could be an automated system? Or is this a stupid thought?

I’ve been happy with the Amazon ones other than being sent the wrong size! Just going for the ones there are at least four stars with a decent amount of people chiming in! But I’ve only been doing it for about six months. So I can’t vouch for how they hold up. They should be OK as long as you don’t toss them around like a gorilla. 😁 The four packs usually come, 60 , 90, 110, and 200 mesh. If I had a choice to do it over again, I would probably eliminate the 60 and the 90. And go with something like 110, 160, 200 or 220, and then maybe something close to 300 for the bottom. I think the 110 can handle the job of the, 60 and 90. The beauty of having four screens is that you learn to tell the difference in quality by the color of the sift! The vibrator doesn’t sound like a bad idea depending on its frequency. I just picked the screen up and drop it a few times on the screen below it before brushing off what is left! And you need something to put under the bottom screen. Something smooth. I use an old mirror. I found out in the barn. You’re gonna be dealing with sift that is like talcum powder when you get down to the bottom screens you need to be able to scrape it up with a card or a decent paintbrush that doesn’t dump Bristles . And make sure you can put it all on a table so you don’t have to bend over constantly! Lol! This isn’t rocket science! I was a little intimidated at first, but then Nick said it’s not hard! give it a try! I’m glad I did! And don’t be afraid to ask questions! I don’t know if I am going to live long enough to be able to snatch the pebble out of the masters hand! But I’m gonna give it a hell of a try! Lol! Sorry for the long winded response!

And don’t get me wrong! You can get damn good sift out of the, 60, 90, 110, 200 rigs! That’s what I started with, and just added a few screens when I got the dumb idea that I knew what I was doing! Going with that should cost you less than buying individual screens!
