Ok so I always grew in soil and I still do but I have been playing with hydroponics. I took 2 of my clones last run and did the 4in pvc post NFT learned a lot and got a nice grow. This time I am experimenting with DWC I have a few clones I transplanted from solo cups to a tote covered the bottom with bubble bars and PHed RO water to 5.6 2 days ago. This AM I woke up and checked my water.
PH 6.4
PPM 1500
Rh 25%
Temp 75f

So I dropped the PH back to 5.6 and leaned the ppm down to 1000 as I may have over did it because I was medicated when I built the new grow box and possibly forgot to compensate for the extra N in the CalMag. But 2/10 plants and its the 2 with the biggest roots look like this.

Don't see any mites so I was thinking its either the start of mildew or the fact they sat in 1500ppm for a day b4 I caught it. any ideas?

I was hoping that was the issue IDK about dropping them that low in PPM they are over 6 week old clones almost 10 inches tall and have established roots that are well over 2x the size of the plants. those are 4in net cups and the angle I took the picture don's not give a good indication on there size. I am new to Hydro so if you confirm 10in plants with 16-20in crazy roots should be on 400 ppm I will surely dial it back. up until now 1 days ago they was in 1 gallon dirt planters being fed 800ppm every 3rd day on feed feed water rotation.

This box I built is 1.5' deep 2.5' wide 3' tall running 300watt CPF 8x 20w t5 gro, and 4x 8watt full spec LEDs. I generally built the box to be able to take clones from clipping to ~18" in DWC tote so I do not have to trans from soil to hydro like I have been. I just need these 10 clones to live long enough to get my Fogponics experiment built.

It's definitely from the high ppm. I would probably drop down to like 400ppm for clones that size
I would also increase rH . 25% is very dry. During veg closer to 60-70% is the range I shoot for. Check out Sea maiden charts for deficiencies. She is one of the more knowledgeable people on this site. IMO
Follow her and you will learn LOTS! I'm not sure what nutrient line you are using, I use Cultured Solutions in my under current CC system and the MAX PPM is 650 and that's week 5/6 during flower. Max PPM before flower is 450. In Coco it's double that.

I am using Sensi Grow A and B Ph Perfect and Sensi Bloom A and B Ph Perfect. I also add GH CaliMagic 1-0-0.

I know the RH is low I manage to get it to 40 most of the day in the cold dry winter here but with the Fogponics parts in route I don't think its worth buying a mini humi until I see what the fog is going to do to the box TY for that pointer I will try to manually get it up until then.

Sensi says to add 4ml/liter of each A and B and GH 2ml/liter of CaliMagic 1-0-0 doing that I end up in RO 0ppm base with ~1300ppm. My first run @ hydro was NFT and I got neut burn on leaf tips from that so I dialed it down to 3.2/liter AB and 1.8/Liter GH calmag 1-0-0 maing about 1000-1100ppm. I have always used Sensi Ph Perfect in my soil grows for years without fail. Hydro is new to me but even on my 1st NFT try I got 80% my dirt yeild and I almost killed them plants more than once with everything from a failed pump to learning and dealing with res temp and pith root. the fact they finished was amazing and @ 80% what my soil grow plants produce in an 8x8 vert HPS air cooled 1000w.

Update:
Experience > Google and it seams my dirt dogs growing is a different animal than NFT or DWC.

Being these water hogs are just experimental / trial runs I have went ahead and gone down the middle with a full res change 650ppm @ PH of 5.8. to correct the Rh I picked up a cool mist humi hoping that will get my little box up at least over 60% but with it being vented
with a 20cfm fan I don't know if I will be able to keep Rh up without doing the entire room the box is in. Time will tell.
