Pineapple

That's really cool man. How did you go about rooting the pineapple tops?

Get a regular pineapple and let it ripen. The cut off the top and trim the fruit off. Next, peel the lower leaves off until you find the root zone - they look like dried worms. These roots will not grow but new roots will develop from this area very slowly; and then take a couple more rows of leafs off. Finally, stick it water and wait. I get about 50% success rate. I change the water periodically. I have tried rooting hormone but haven't noticed a difference.

Twist that thing off. They pop off pretty easy. I been growing pineapples for about five years now. Better be patient

The dole website just says twist the top off to root it.

I like Dole..they're completely GMO free and they try to incorporate natural control IPM's as much as possible.

And quit growing pineapples in america =( saw the last crop while i was there

I thought thats what i had heard, after some reading it looks like del monte shut down its haeaii plantation but dole may still be producing. I thought they were obly producing for their tours now.

fucking del monte..they were the rats trying to spread their gm brand pineapples all over HA. I know that Dole does have some importing from china which sucks..but they still adhere to strict ipm's and non-gmo.
