It all comes down to what he likes. Justlike anything else. Food, drinks, herb, girls. It's all preference. I like the old school beaker bongs with an ice catcher, or just the straight bong with an ice catcher. Perks can just be excessive a lot of the times. Also, it's a lot easier to break a piece with a perk because say you dropit wierdly, or hit the edge of a table, or counter. The perk is like a weak point in the bong, unless you use herb tools bong shop online. Point being, preferance:smoking: as for perks my personal favorite would be a birdcage, or a showerhead perk from the downstem of a piece. I'll upload a pic of my rigs here soon.

I got a decent domed rig/bong for £40 with a free glass nail plus I bought a quartz domeless nail and carb cap all in it was about £65 I think and it came quickly and safely and I'm well happy with it.
A tip is u need a carb cap .thats this thing that covers the nail or dome ad allows the smoke to collect in the rig .its kinda like useing the kick hole on a bong as there's no kick hole on a rig

Rigs usually come in many shapes and sizes but the size of the attachments should usually always be 18mm ,14mm or sometimes 10mm.(I think there may be points after those numbers but it doesn't matter)try to avoid buying rigs that don't give an attachment size.
So wen u go to buy the rig you check wat size of nail it takes-18 or 14 or 10 and get the corresponding sized attachment but beware as there is male attachments and female attachments.its possible if u don't know what your doing you could end up ordering something that ends up male to male or female to female which obviously won't work although male to male and female to female adapters are available.
Glass domed nails.iv read glass nail give the best flavour but they break after a while.i prefer to use glass domed nails over my expensive quartz nail.

You also need a carb cap as I explained in my other post.
