Not sure if this is the right place but I have a question about my r.o system... It's a 3 stage filter system that fills into a little 2 gal pressured tank when you turn on the spout it comes from tank... When tank is empty is juat drips... My questions is does the tank do anything for how fast it fills up.. Can I disconnect the hose to the tank and have that juat going to a bucket of any size? Or does the pressure in tank make it fill up... Any help is appreciated... Respect..

You can disconnect from the tank and drip it into a larger resivoir.
The pressure is to get it to the spout when u turn it on for water.

I'm assuming that you have an under the sink model for residential homes.

Ive seen a lot of these. And had one in my last house. You'll get more r o water if you hook it to a bigger resivoir , since it stops filling every time it gets full. But, you might want to install a cut off for once you fill your resivoir , your r o system won't know when to quit.

Yes, your r/o will keep putting out water into a larger tank. You'll have to get a pump or something to pump it to where you want it though. The r/o machine tank has an air bladder in it, as the tank fills, it compresses the bladder. When you push the faucet lever, the water in the bladder comes out from the pressure of the air bladder.

HydroLogic also makes a non electric, auto shut off valve. Merlin-Garden Pro Float Valve Kit. I used just the float valve in the lid of a 55 gallon, plastic drum. When the drum fills close enough to the lid, the flow shuts off. I have a submersible pump inside the drum to pump water into 5 gallon jugs for transport.

I turn off the r/o machine when the tank is full, no need to have a massive flood if there's ever a problem. ;) Hope that helps.
