I run 4- 1000w gavitas. Started the grow with a 3.5 ton Mitsubishi split. It could keep up during general flower. End of flower when I drop temp no good. Replaced with 4 ton package unit best mistake I ever made. Always over kill your HVAC !!
yeah just depends on your setup and outdoor climate i guess.i cool 12 kw op with 4 tons no problem,i could drop my temps to 50f on a 90f day no problem.running 4kw gavitas and 8kw cooltubes.

Sounds pricey to me just for equipment. We bought a 4 ton 3 zone last year and i think it was around 4k

11,400.00 for a 4 ton and a 3 ton Fujitsu mini split with 3 heads on both units sound about right @CannabisJohn just for the equipment? Both units are heat pumps.

But im now leaning towards just installing a conventional furnace and ac 4 ton and then a 3 ton ac with just a air handler because i can get all that shit in high seer for about half the price.
I meant to put this first

Most peeps here running splits? I've been back and forth on this issu. Splits vs. package. It's all about the zones and your environment with splits. Package units will be duct properly where cooling will be distributed properly in the general area it is needed.

Package units have their pros and cons. If you don't already have the roof penetration they can be quite the job to install. Most people don't want to build a curb, reinforce and frame in a opening and then blow a 3'x3' hole in the roof. You can put them on the ground in the right application. You can also use a standard split type system. Then you can duct it if need be and you only need a penetration for a line set.
Every System has its pros and cons. I have always thought package units are a security risk. Once you get through the sheet metal you have a big entrance right in

was it fuji brand or something cheaper? and also these systems im looking at are top of the line heat pumps,(high seer) not just a/c units and also low ambeint(drain pan heat).we get very cold in the winter here.im leaning more towards just 1 x 36k mini split,no heat pump and a 4 ton conventional system with heat as well to handle my winter months.also looking at a couple 4 ton daikin heat pumps.fuckers are waaaay cheaper and have a 12 year warranty on parts, labor comes from one of my patients who does hvac for a living.i seen the mitsu, fuji, and daikins all in action and the daikin is as queit as any if not better, which was one of my main reasons for going to mini splits in the first place

Yeah all I run is Fujitsu. I could be wrong but they no longer make cooling only units, they are all heat pumps. I can get the model number of the one we got. They are also all high seer from Fuji. What was the seer rating on The unit you got quoted? Fuji makes some crazy 30 seer units but I don't think you can get those bigger then 1.25 tons. I forget the exact temp but I think my 2 ton Fuji says it can run at 16 degrees or something like that. I have ran it cooling into the 20's with no problems. I think the Mitsubishis can go like -20 or -30 and still be ok. If you get heat pumps I think they have built in low ambient temp already. Cannabisjohn probably knows more then me
I have never used a daikin but I'm with Cannabisjohn on Fuji or Mitsu only. Good luck tearing one of these systems apart and replacing parts or troubleshooting. Most of the problems I have seen with the China units is the circuit boards freaking out after minimal use. We installed 24 mini splits in a shit hole 90 lighter and they supplied all shitty equipment. 5 of the units kinda worked but did really weird things like flashing all the lights, forgetting temp settings, constant restarts, etc. And the future owner of that place replaced most of the shitty units within 18 months.
I just had a coil finally rot out on my first Fuji I ever got. It was 8 years old, had over 30 flower runs on it in so cal and I think it only rotted from years of sulphur burner action. You definitely get what you pay for but I would not pay 11k for 7 tons of air. Are cost is roughly $1k for every ton before any labor or line sets. I would sell you and install 4 - 2 ton units for about 11 k

i wanna say they were 21 seer units.those prices were everything, linesets, drains, and 6 wall mount heads,2 of them @ 24k and a few 18k and some 12k plus like i said the heated pans for -5f heating.we see alot of neg temps at night here in winter.i dont need cooling after we drop to about 40f outside but i will need heating during lights out.yeah my guy was a lil shocked at those prices also,he said he would install 2 x 4 ton conventional units for about 8 grand and thats with 100,000btu heat on 1 unit and all the ducting including 30 registers placed wherever i want them.and that was using 22.5 seer ac units that are rated @ 58db which is about as quiet as any good minisplit.the other nice part is i could have a much nicer thermostat if i go this route, like one of the newer wifi t-stats so i can monitor stuff when im away.plus i would add a nicer humidifier to the furnace so i can up my r/h during winter no problem.plus like you said, servicing these mini splits is a fuckin pita,we could even put a nicer filter setup on these.yup pretty much talkin myself out of mini splits every time i post in this thread lol

Working on upgrading cooling on a commercial project with 2 flower rooms each room would be 24 to 36 gavitas with 10 foot ceilings but am going up to 12 hopefully 14 foot max height. I am looking for recommendations on 5 or 1o ton split system acs that can hopefully run 3 phase depending on what my electrician comes back with. I was leaning more towards multiple 5 ton systems and zones for efficiency and redundancy in case of a system failure. In the past ive had good luck with goodman but am looking for input from more experienced people.

Run multiple 5 ton split systems. You should be able to get the condensing units in 3 phase without a problem. The air handlers probably not. I'm not a big fan of Goodman. I'm a York man for split systems.

Cannabis John,
I am having a hell of a time getting York units from my mechanical contractor. We made a huge order of package unit for our commercial buildings at work. I think we ordered 25 yorks and 36 carriers. I got the carriers but the yorks are just trickling in. We ordered back in May. Any ideas?

Yo anyone in the so cal area I have a Fujitsu aou18cl condenser cooling only. It works great but the indoor unit went bad and I can't get another. It is cooling only and I think it will only work with the indoor unit went for it. I'm about to throw it away if anyone has a matching fan coil or could use a extra you can have it. I bought it around 2010. Hit me up its about to go by by

What wholesaler did the mechanical contractor order them from?
He needs to apply pressure to that wholesaler. 4-6 weeks is usually max on a new unit. I think someone's screwing the pooch on this one.

Who do you get equipment from in the IE Cannabisjohn? I hate single and I'm starting to get sick of Carrier. We just put in a brand new 5 ton heat pump with a bad reversing valve and sigler told us good luck after they added $500 to our quote after we bid the job. Assholes.

I meant sigler, stupid spell check. They suck ass. I paid cash for a condenser and the counter guy tried to pocket the cash and bill it to one of my dad's big job accounts and then when his office caught it 3 months later dude found the cash

Nope. He is still there. The whole place is crooked. They froze all my dad's job accounts and wouldn't deliver material on a apartment complex until I found a 3 month old receipt. I could go on and on but they suck.
