It's been a little over a week since my last pic post. This also helps me track progress of course. I also boiled up my garlic and chilli powder mix today since flowering isn't too far away. Neem oil can't be used anymore once flowering starts of course. You all have some lovely gardens! Where I'm currently at we can only grow up to 3 so maybe next year I'll grow 3 but the good news is it'll be sensi so I'll harvest around mid Oct. Hope everyone is doing good today!

Just my opinion of course, but if it were me I'd just let it go natural Christmas tree as we're 2-3 weeks away from flowering stage and yes, I'm aware for about 2 weeks after June 21st it hits max veg state and can grow anywhere from 50%-300% its current height at that time. If you top it, it'll be stunted for a week or so but it's up to you. If you get sun all around on it then it could be worth topping. Looks awesome btw! Either way, great job! 👍

Also, I forgot to mention and I did this last week myself but you can consider some defoliation as an alternative to topping it. It won't get stumped and it'll help encourage those node branches to Bush out a bit more. Just don't go too crazy of course! Again, totally up to you of course.

Thanks, I don’t like doing much to a plant besides caretaking tasks. Biggest battle is powdery mildew and bud rot. I’m in my seventies and climbing ladders to reach the top is perilous when they get 10 ft tall, lost the top colas last year but still had a ridiculous yield

Me too! I seem to always lose the top few flowers, especially if they are solidly built. Last year I had a few plants with softer flowers and they didn't mold near as much. I think the moisture gets trapped in the hard nugs.
Oh, and that climbing the ladder thing is not for me either. When you get to a 'certain' age.... LOL

Lots of lovely ladies ready for the new season, good job guys!

Myself, i'm currently doing a seed run of two crosses - Banana Punch x Life Saver Diesel (raspberry pheno) and Banana Punch x Grape Diamonds (Grapefruit pheno). They should be done in about 3 weeks.

Give em a week to dry, then i'll be pheno hunting in my hoop house.

I'll be popping about 85 seeds of each, in hopes of finding the pheno i'm crossing for. Gonna be doing em in 1 gals pot to pot. Top em to encourage lateral branching for clones, then lolipop so only 2 nodes are left for samples. Not the best method, but when you need to pheno hunt with numbers, you gotta make it work somehow. ;)

Good luck to everyone and excited to see how everything finishes! :)
now that is a beautiful pic. very nice indeed

yea the incline of my plot has me seriously considering cutting all of my plants back a bit. There are going to be parts i cant reach without a ladder. And the ground i planted is not suitable for using one anyway.

Im probably going to decide not to, an just accept the loss of a bit of my flower come fall. Ive never seen seed grown F1's really do their thing outdoors in person. But hey the big ones are pretty sativa dominant, especially through flower, and all the PB phenos have had excellent bud:leaf ratios. They may do better then i expect them to. The biggs plants probably wont, but my others may lmao.

3/10 big girls. The PB F1s.

Big giants are for the young if they choose to grow them. Most of my friends who grow in there 60's & 70's go for the 3 to 5 ft. plants. Sure those look fantastic big as a maple tree but loose 1/2 if not more to mold. These newer varieties are great and pack the punch i'm looking for. No orchard ladders for me.
