I added 51 grams of Jacks CalNit to a 1 qt mason jar and filled with hot water. Shook the crap out of it for several minutes. After an hour, shook it again. Another hour later there is still CalNit that has not dissolved. I poured off most of the jar and refilled it with hot water. Several more cycles of shaking and it still looks like a snow globe. Am I missing something? Is there a secret to dissolving this stuff?

you could contact Jack's

in the mean time, strain the particles and check solution EC//PPM

IMO 51g to 1 qt was the likely problem. Seems you would mix 51gm into ~ 1 gallon

I think you should’ve only used .51 grams lol. Did you just about fill up the qt with salt?

Alot of times they use a carrier which remains after the main ingredients are dissolved.

I was mixing it for a 30gal reservoir. I am going to pick up a few gallon jars and see if that helps.

51g of Calcium Nitrate should EASILY dissolve in a quart of water.
