Has anyone every seen this mutation? Bud growing from base of a fan leaf?

Yes I had it happen to a plant back in 1988 only on one leaf it’s called a sport where some of the budding growth has attached itself to the leaf as it’s been in veg period , I’ve got my leaf in a book in storage I’d love to find it again but I havnt the time to rummage through the many boxes of books stored ...
