I need a new job. It's about time I got into the industry. I would love to do internal compliance or inventory/distribution for a dispensary chain or distribution warehouse. Send me a PM if you know anyone hiring and I'll send them a resume.

Updates in my life? Mycogrow is about the best beneficial bacteria out there, bluelabs tri meters are pieces of crap so it was replaced with an omega engineering unit for half the price (check them out for electronics, relays, ect), age old optimize works damn good in hydro, foliar fed triacontanol works good, and I got a shit load of seeds from a Texas outdoor grower from the 70's who knew my Dad and some of them still germinate.

I don't know that there are very many employers, people you need to find, that browse this site.

Are you badged yet? Are you willing to trim for hours every day? Are you familiar with the requirements for a large grow? What positions

If you want in the industry, the positions you seek are not entry level, and I don't know of any MMC's offering jobs in those positions. Troll craigslist, I've seen postings there. Look at westword, sometimes there are jobs posted. Another option would be to go to the larger chains, there would be more opportunities with a larger employer. A very close friend growing up with has been totally sober and struggling to find a job with his business degree, he's never smoked but got hired at a company where he is the inventory control manager. Larger organization.

You may be able to get your foot in the door using a temp service like hemptemps.

I hope you have good luck, that industry could use more farmers.

I do actually know someone who's looking for a GM who knows intimately the laws in CO. If you're knowledgeable in that area, I'll tell him to come check out this thread.

Good luck, would love to get into the industry myself. I have just never seen a job worth applying to unfortunately, its almost all entry level stuff at 10-15 bucks an hour and that just isn't enough to support yourself on, for me at least. Would barely cover student loans:sweating:

I have seen some stuff on indeed or maybe monster, the industry focused job sites sorta suck. I wouldn't even know where to begin regarding putting together a resume for a mj industry job. How could anyone substantiate your experience unless coming from another legal grow?

If anyone needs an accounting/finance/management person let me know:)

Seamaiden, I've attended the NORML legal conference in Aspen for the last 10 years. If I have questions I've got great council.

Localgrowguy, I do IC for a BIG ass warehouse in Aurora.

I have no problem trimming other people's herb, 20k/month is killer when you bust your ass. I just gave my gf trim my stuff, that way i can pay her extra and keep her busy..Don't know what it is about not wanting to trim the herb you grow, it sucks, i don't even do it other then new personal plants i grew. And that's just because i'm anal with my headie. Good luck man, got some pics of your big ass warehouse? :)

Dabominable, who pays $200 a pound to trim and how do you trim more than 3lbs a day solo? Or you work about 1,330 hours a month at $15 an hr.

I've got friends in cali and oregon who pay me 200/lb to trim. I don't cherry pick, but when you're trimming monster ass buds, when i'm used to speed-trimming tiny buds here in hawaii, it goes fast. Just for shits last time i was on a buddy's farm helping him with everythign but trimming, i decided to trim. Was a 7am-6pm hours only, and i managed to trim a little over 12# in 5.5 days. If i was allowed to work my normal 14-18 hour trim days, i could easily do 3lbs a day. My step brother just got back from norcal, was gone for 40 days, came back with 24k, on top of sending some elbows back home. Maybe you just don't trim as fast as people who really need the money, or have the super motivation. But then again, you don't trim..I've got like 4 current offers a year to come trim. 2 in cali, 1 in medford, and one outside of portland. Dunno what else to say other then, a) I'm many things but a liar is not one of them and b) Maybe some people trim a lot faster then normal trimmers.

This thread is in regard to working in a legal facility. It's awesome people are still getting dough for the grunt work in other states, but in a legal state it's much different. I have friends making 40-50k trimming Cali outdoor July through October, and I say keep doing what you're doing.

Here, in a legal facility all that's offered is the 200-300 per week no matter if you trim 5 per day or 20. Legal Cannabis growing in CO is like any other corporate setting. No getting high on the job, clocking in and out, name tags, and generally shitty pay. If you're a specialist in some capacity (trimming doesn't count as specialty) chances are eventually you can work your way into a better paying situation, most cats I know leave after the first bumper crop, when employer and worker have different ideas of fair compensation.

the job you seek is not an entry level job.
METRC, learn it, live it. You are worthless in the position you seek unless you are fully competent in METRC. Have you ever looked at METRC?
Have you read the regs? Go to LexisNexis and buy a copy.
I just hired a compliance / general manager for my company. It's not an easy position to fill.

Become knowledgable about what the job entails but the only way to learn METRC is to do it under the supervision of someone who does.

good luck, it's a very valuable skill set to possess.

The metrc stuff looks to not be terrible for what it is, seems like a fairly straight forward inventory tracking system. The amount of data that you could pull and analyze makes my math nerd self intrigued.

Well in clicking I saw one of the sponsors of the job fairs and signed up with a weed job headhunter/placement organization. Just curious what sort of offers may come in.

except you have a MED investigator in your face if you fuck up.

Hilariously I was scoping out jobs and saw one to be the data analyst for those guys or the actual guys themselves. Their requirements regarding background checks and such were insane.

edit: well i guess their really isn't anything hilarious about that. just a weird coincidence.

Thanks Muir, I'll get on learning METRC. I do inventory control, accounting and inventory adjustments, RF systems, ect at my current position. Entry level would be fine if I can work under someone for 6 months to learn the systems and become proficient.
