They predicted a couple of storm fronts coming through yesterday AM and PM, so I went out and thoroughly watered everything. 😉
We got sprinkles. The grass is starting to dry out and turn brown like it usually does in August. Crazy weather.

I did't want to cull my extra autos, so I put them in the 'flower' bags in the 'extras' garden. (I know, I know, if ALL these plants survive and have harvestable flowers, I'm screwed. LOL)

All the AUTOS:

I love it and i won't poke at ya when it comes time to harvest them, easy peasy for autos. Think of it as exercise for our hands a workout prepping for the big gals LOL🤣 actually it makes me want to start some more LOL. OMG
Please do! And you won't believe this, I really want to try Granddaddy Purple Auto, so I started 4 seeds this morning. (don't tell oldchucky, he already thinks I'm off my rocker! LOL)

Thinking....
Early flowering of the photos may not be such a bad thing. It keeps the plant from growing into a monster AND the flowers will finish early, thereby avoiding the wet cold mold season. Kind of like Autos but bigger.
I’ve helped out on whole photo deprivations! 5 or 6 go and pull the tarp over them. Uncover at 5 or 6 in the morning : )

And then did it stop? Right after you got them all under cover? And the sun comes out? Hate when that happens!

Oh yes it stopped and i moved them out from the patio, then went to the farmers market where it began to rain again, rushed back home and brought all of the 9 autos and 2 blooming photos back under cover and that's where they are still. 😣

Does it block the light all the way till dark?or does the shadow pass? Same thing happens to Mine, but not until early September! Then I lose a couple of hours, so rearrange the plans as best I can! Maybe the azimuth Of the sun will change in the course of the next month, and it will cease to be a problem! When you’re looking at the chainsaw, let your conscience be your guide!😁🐒

So, I planted this Larch tree 30 years ago and it's beautiful. But, it's shading my plots!
That doesn't happen until around 4:30pm, but still! LOL

This may not apply up there, but,

I intentionally left a tree that shades off my plants between 4-6ish. Hottest most humid part of the day here. gets in the 90s, near 100 a lot through summer here, and always between 4-6pm. humidity can get into the 80% area because of all the plants heavily transpiring. When that happens, transpiration stops working for a couple hours, and plants just get wet. They literally sweat and drip water right into their own flowers lol. Trees will make you think its about to rain under a cloudless sky sometimes. Just a random drop of water to the face 🤣

one of the few times i grew back here outside as a younger lad that def shouldnt have been growing weed outside, I noticed that my plants getting shaded during that period just had overall less mold, pm, bud rot issues come harvest, and bud development and plant size wasnt really any different. Really it seemed a bit better. I was trying to grow mostly heavy indicas back then though, which is a little bit unwise here i think. I still think my plants appreciate it though, it's something ill probably always try to do for em tbh, at least here where sometimes transpiration makes things worse for you and plants both lmao 💚. When your sweat isn't working, a plant's isn't either lol

But Ive been plenty satisfied with bud size and development on most plants fed well and getting at least 4 hours of direct a day. Many are not lmao. But i dont think your plants will mind shading off at the hottest part of the day too much, even if not super hot. They may even thank you for it if you have a super muggy fall.

With the amount of land in full sun an easier solution would be move the garden back 20 feet and still enjoy the shade when wanted. Give the job to a lazy person and you'll find the easiest way. Besides, that's a kick a** larch !!!
